Communications strategies in public sector international development work

Communications strategies are essential for public and private public relations and promotion efforts. Getting people to buy into a communications strategy in a public sector environment is an excercise in persuasion and demonstrating possible benefits rather than an exercise in determining ROI. A communications strategy must also be led by an individual who is specifically tasked with planning, coordinating, implementing and measuring communications efforts.
The need for a communications strategy is evident based upon the opinions issued in military and other U.S. Government offices during the past year.
